The disagreements between Ukraine and Poland will not lead to a serious gap between the countries. Bogdan Bezpalko, a political scientist and member of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia on August 28.

"It is possible that targeted deportations of Ukrainians will be carried out in Poland, nationalist symbols will be banned, but nothing more. Ukraine will continue to receive Western weapons through Poland and even trade with Western countries. For Warsaw, an indirect conflict with Russia is much more important than a showdown with the Ukrainians, in such circumstances decisions will be rhetorical and populist," Bezpalko said.

The expert also added that there are several reasons for the current conflict. According to him, many Ukrainians who adhered to nationalist ideology and behaved quite defiantly arrived in Poland after 2022. In addition, migrants are dumping in the labor market and occupy many economic niches.

Earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki called for the Bandera ideology to be equated with the fascist one. The Head of state also vetoed the law on benefits for Ukrainian refugees, which provides for the payment of a monthly allowance of 800 zloty ($200) per child.

In early August, a scandal broke out in Poland over riots at a concert by singer Max Korzh in Warsaw. The audience clashed with the police, and also unfurled the flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA, included in the list of terrorists and extremists and banned in the Russian Federation). As a result, 57 Ukrainians were decided to be deported from the country.
