The riots and protests in Serbia clearly show an external influence. Denis Denisov, a political scientist and expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, shared this belief with Izvestia on August 27.

He stressed that for a long time the protests had neither leaders nor clear political demands, but now the situation has changed and become more radical.

"An external influence was immediately apparent — these are some European countries. Well, radical elements have emerged that are clearly not interested in a peaceful settlement of this situation, but on the contrary. These actions are aimed at radicalizing the situation, at overthrowing the government, that is, it is the organization of another so—called "color revolution"," explained Denisov.

Talking about ways to reduce the intensity of the protests, the political scientist noted that he does not see soft ways to solve this problem — in his opinion, it is necessary to act harshly against the radicals.

"Against the radicals who are engaged in outrages, smashing up shops, trying to sharply radicalize the situation, it is necessary to use exceptionally harsh methods of suppression. <...> At the expense of law enforcement agencies, it is necessary to suppress these radical elements and prevent the situation from getting out of control," he concluded.

On August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. On August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. The actions covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.

On August 17, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic promised to take decisive action against the unrest in Serbia. On August 18, anti-government protesters in Serbia smashed windows in one of the Belgrade offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP). It is noted that the protesters use pyrotechnics and throw stones.

On August 19, the Serbian president said that mass riots and attacks on buildings in Belgrade were an attempt to organize a color revolution. It is assumed that the financing of such riots has not been thought out, and the instigators do not have a plan and program that they will offer to the people of Serbia.
