Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on August 26 that he had had a "long and cordial" conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on bilateral cooperation.

"During a long and warm conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, we discussed bilateral relations and agreed on the further development of economic cooperation," he wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).

In addition, Vucic and Lavrov talked about participating in joint projects and discussed the political relations between the two countries. As the President noted, the Russian Federation and Serbia are striving to further develop communication and cooperation in various forums, organizations and institutions at the international level.

On August 21, Vucic discussed with Russian Ambassador Alexander Botan-Kharchenko the meeting at the highest level of the two countries' leaders as soon as possible. According to him, Serbia is still determined to develop friendly relations with the Russian Federation.
