Representatives of almost all political parties in Germany are opposed to sending the German military to Ukraine. This was reported on August 20 by the NTV channel.

During the debate on the possible deployment of Bundeswehr soldiers to Ukraine, Dirk Wiese, head of the parliamentary faction of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), criticized this idea.

Two politicians of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) from the eastern federal states of Germany also opposed, they were supported by Alternative for Germany, the Left Party and Sarah Wagenknecht's Union for Reason and Justice (BSW).

"The Federal government has stated that the debate on security guarantees should not be limited to this issue alone," NTV added.

Earlier that day, Bloomberg learned about the readiness of about 10 countries to send troops to Ukraine as part of providing possible security guarantees for Kiev. This was clarified during the summit of European officials. According to the agency, the meeting of the leaders of the European Union (EU) with US President Donald Trump at the White House, which confirmed Washington's commitment to security guarantees, was a prerequisite for the relevant plans.

At the same time, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced the republic's readiness to send a company of soldiers to the territory of Ukraine as part of the "coalition of the willing."At the same time, Michal clarified that it was too early to discuss the details of a possible mission.
