The Polish authorities will not send their troops to Ukraine for fear of weakening their own forces. The Politico newspaper writes about this on August 20, citing a local official.

"Poland, which now has the largest armed forces in the EU, excludes sending troops to Ukraine," the publication says.

It is noted that the country's authorities will limit themselves to helping Ukraine with the logistics of "any mission to the east."

"Poland has a strategic dilemma, as it borders Russia and Belarus. The state cannot weaken its forces," the official added.

Earlier that day, Bloomberg learned about the readiness of about 10 countries to send troops to Ukraine as part of providing possible security guarantees for Kiev. This was clarified during the summit of European officials held on the same day. According to the agency, the meeting of the leaders of the European Union (EU) with US President Donald Trump at the White House, which confirmed Washington's commitment to security guarantees, was a prerequisite for the relevant plans.
