Omoda recalls C7 crossovers in Russia. On cars, it is required to replace the plastic steering wheel cover assembly with the driver's front airbag. This is stated in the message of the representative office of the Chinese brand, which was received by Izvestia on August 19.

"The excessive inclination of the guide rail led to a reduction in the working stroke of the pressing equipment and, consequently, a loose fixation of the plastic lining when pressed onto the airbag housing," explained Omoda.

Omoda sent a notification about the start of the recall campaign to Rosstandart. The replacement work of the component will be carried out by the official dealers of the brand, they will be free for car owners. It is not specified exactly how many crossovers were reviewed.

The Omoda C7 is the latest model in the brand's lineup, with sales starting in Russia at the end of May this year. According to the statistics of Autostat Info, which is available to Izvestia, 493 such cars have been sold in the Russian Federation since that moment until the end of July. At the same time, 225 C7 crossovers were registered in the middle of summer.

Earlier, on July 25, Kia Russia and CIS announced a recall of almost 79.9 thousand Kia Sportage vehicles sold between 2010 and 2015. The reason for the recall was the need to replace the multi-fuse of the HECU electronic hydraulic control unit in order to reduce the nominal value for better circuit protection.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
