Egyptian airline Sky Vision Airlines will start operating flights to Russia
Since the end of August, the Egyptian charter airline Sky Vision Airlines has been operating a flight program to eight Russian cities commissioned by Russian tour operators. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) on August 11.
"In late August and early September, Sky Vision Airlines, an Egyptian charter airline, will begin flying from Moscow and seven cities to Sharm el—Sheikh by order of tour operators PEGAS Touristik and Coral Travel," the statement said.
According to ATOR, the airline will operate flights from eight Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Omsk, Perm, Tyumen and Ufa. The airline will start operating its first flights from Tyumen Roshchino Airport on August 28.
The Association of tour operators clarified that the involvement of Sky Vision Airlines is linked to plans to expand existing flight programs and launch new ones. They want to implement such a measure against the background of high demand for tours to Egypt.
It is noted that Sky Vision Airlines is a private Egyptian airline based in Cairo. She has been engaged in commercial transportation since 2023. Routes from Russia to Sharm el-Sheikh will be operated on B737-800 aircraft.
On May 22, it was reported that the Egyptian airline AlMasria Universal Airlines was reducing its flight program from Russia to the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada and back by almost a third. It is specified that the cancelled flights will be redistributed by tour operators between Russian and foreign carriers. The domestic airlines Azur, Ural Airlines and Red Wings, as well as the Egyptian ones — Egypt Air, Air Cairo, Red Sea Airlines - should take over the load.
