Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated Eleonora Andreeva, biology teacher at V.I. Churkin School No. 1522, on her 90th birthday.

As the mayor wrote in his Telegram channel, the teacher has worked at this educational institution for almost 40 years since its foundation in 1959.

"For several generations, Eleonora Nikolaevna has become an example, mentor and guide to the world of new knowledge," the mayor noted. "Among her students are recognized doctors and biologists. These are surgeon Badma Bashankaev, genetic scientist Mikhail Khaykinson, physician Alexey Kholin, biologist Alexey Borisov and many other professionals."

Nikolaeva retired in 1996, but still maintains contact with her native school. The mayor wished the teacher "health and long life," and also thanked him "for his dedication to the profession and contribution to the Moscow education system."

Earlier in August, Sobyanin announced that 51 fully renovated schools would be opened in Moscow by the beginning of the upcoming school year. According to the mayor, the My School program involves "a systematic update of the entire educational environment in Moscow." The current task is "to reconstruct hundreds of schools in Moscow every year," he said.

The mayor also said that he had visited the building of school No. 534 in Zyablikov, where a "modern environment for children and teachers has now been created — with new classrooms, a media library, sports and gyms." The school will continue to implement the projects "Mathematical Vertical" and "Cadet class", and from this academic year, "IT vertical", "Natural Science vertical" and "IT class" are also planned.
