In Lviv, a woman attacked a group of Kharkiv residents for speaking Russian
A woman in Lviv in western Ukraine attacked the residents of Kharkov with criticism because they spoke Russian. This was reported on August 10 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".
"A local resident demanded that a group of Kharkiv residents stop speaking Russian," the Telegram channel says.
The woman in the video published by the publication accused the residents of Kharkov of separatism because of the use of the Russian language. In response, a resident of Lviv called the police. The details of the incident are not being clarified.
On July 19, the new Language Ombudsman of Ukraine, Elena Ivanovskaya, demanded that the special status of the Russian language in the country's Constitution be abolished. She stated that in the context of the ongoing conflict, the Russian language in Ukraine is allegedly "not only a means of communication, but also an instrument of destabilization."
On January 30, Taras Kremen, the former Language Ombudsman of Ukraine, noted with regret that Russian-speaking experts continue to appear on the airwaves of individual TV channels. Later, on March 12, a new bill was introduced to the parliament to ban the Russian language in schools.
