Despite the similar symptoms of a heart attack and a panic attack, they can be distinguished by the nature of the pain and the duration of the attack. About this on August 8th "Газете.ги "Dmitry Karpenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Pirogov University, told.

"A panic attack usually develops in the absence of any external influence. <...> The pain may be accompanied by dizziness. And the most important thing is the feeling of lack of air. At the same time, there may be palpitations, rapid pulse," the doctor described the symptoms of a panic attack.

However, this state of panic attack goes away after about five minutes. The same cannot be said about a heart attack, which can last more than 20 minutes and lead to a heart attack.

"During a heart attack, the pain in the heart is anginal — pressing, compressing, behind the sternum. It may be accompanied by shortness of breath, the pulse may speed up or slow down, and heart failure may occur. Another characteristic symptom is copious cold sweat," explained Karpenko.

Earlier, on August 5, Ella Vinogradova, a cardiologist at the Sberbank Health medical company, spoke about signs of heart failure during exercise. The specialist explained that with heart failure, the heart cannot cope with ensuring adequate blood flow. Among the most common causes are coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, heart defects, previous myocardial infarction, myocarditis, pericarditis, as well as the effects of radiation and chemotherapy. In some cases, alcohol abuse or rare conditions such as thyrotoxicosis and tumor lesions of the heart can lead to a violation.
