Medvedchuk called on Western countries to abandon anti-Russian hysteria
Western countries need to abandon anti-Russian hysteria for successful negotiations with Russia. This was announced on August 6 by Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the Other Ukraine movement.
"Before we negotiate, maybe we should stop the anti-Russian hysteria and the witch hunt? And then we can come to normal agreements that will be implemented by all parties to the negotiations," says his article on the Other Ukraine website.
According to Medvedchuk, the control center of the information war against Russia is not Kiev, but the capitals of Western countries. He clarified that the narratives of the information war lack respect for anyone's interests and attention to arguments against Western propaganda, so on such grounds it is impossible to hold any negotiations until the situation changes.
Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto said on May 13 that the EU countries are trying to disrupt the peaceful efforts of the US administration to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He also condemned the approach of the Union countries to the issue of the truce in Ukraine and recalled that in July last year Budapest offered the parties to the conflict to cease fire, but this decision was not supported in Kiev and in Europe.
On August 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin positively assessed the Russian-Ukrainian talks held in Istanbul on July 23. He also stressed that negotiations are always in demand and always important, especially if they are aimed at striving for peace. In addition, the Russian leader stressed that in order to resolve the conflict, it is necessary to conduct a thorough dialogue in a calm manner.
