In Virginia, a man tried to burn a local deputy
A member of the Danville City Council in Virginia, 38-year-old Lee Vogler was attacked and set on fire. This was reported by ABC News on July 30, citing the police.
According to the Denver Police Department, Shotsy suspect Michael Buck Hayes had a conflict with a deputy in the office of Showcase Magazine, where Vogler also works as a sales director. Hayes doused him with a flammable liquid. After that, the men went outside, where the suspect set Vogler on fire, ABC News writes.
A member of the Danville City Council was taken to the hospital. ABC News, citing a statement from Showcase Magazine, wrote that he suffered "serious burns."
Hayes, the suspect, fled the scene, but police caught him a few blocks later, ABC News reported. He is in custody. According to police, Vogler and Hayes know each other, the attack occurred because of a "personal matter" and is not related to the political activities of a deputy in the Danville city Council.
