Oncologist Evgeny Cheremushkin said that in summer, due to longer sun exposure, frequent flights and jet lag, the risk of developing cancer increases.

In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, July 28, the specialist noted that in the summer the level of ultraviolet radiation becomes especially high.

According to him, prolonged exposure to the sun weakens the immune system. In addition, the summer period is often accompanied by vacations, travel and jet lag in a short time, which creates an additional burden on the immune system, which plays a key role in the containment and treatment of tumor processes, the website writes kp.ru .

Cheremushkin added that some types of cancer, such as pancreatic cancer, can occur covertly, so it is important to undergo regular medical examinations.

Earlier on July 28, oncologist Ilya Romanov, in an interview with Moscow 24, warned that exposure to direct sunlight could cause the development of melanoma. The doctor stressed that during rest, you should avoid exposure to the sun, even in the evening, and be sure to use sunscreens with SPF, notes 360.ru .

On July 21, doctor Irina Volgina warned that sunstroke can manifest itself in the form of dizziness and vomiting. According to the expert, in severe situations, impaired concentration, slowness of reaction, disorientation, confusion or loss of consciousness, as well as seizures are possible.

On July 17, oncologist Igor Samoylenko said that sunburn is one of the main risk factors for skin cancer, which can manifest itself years later. To avoid them, it is important to use sunscreens on exposed skin areas, and if necessary, to bathe in special protective clothing, NSN notes.

On July 11, oncologist Natalia Averina said that short-term exposure to the sun is enough to synthesize vitamin D. According to WHO, it is enough for most people to stay in the sun for 5-15 minutes two to three days a week in the summer to fully meet the need for vitamin D, reports RT.
