A third of Russians are ready to propose a week after they meet
About a third of men (34%) and women (29%) consider it normal to make a marriage proposal after a week of dating if there is a spark between them. At the same time, only 12% of men and 25% of women would prefer to wait six months, analysts Mamba and Sokolov told Izvestia on July 29.
According to the study, men are more likely to have holiday romances: 37% are actively looking for such adventures, and another 30% dreamed of it, but did not decide. Women show more restraint: only 26% are interested in summer flirting, and 31% are not interested in such stories at all.
After a vacation, only 19% of men were able to turn a holiday romance into a serious relationship, while 12% of women turned out to be such.
Analysts noted that almost half of the men (49%) gave their chosen ones memorable gifts. Most often it was flowers and sweets (50%), local souvenirs (26%) or even jewelry, including rings (8%).
Women have different attitudes towards such gifts: 29% keep them as a souvenir, 22% were content with small souvenirs, and 4% immediately got rid of them.
In addition, 16% of men admitted that they proposed after a holiday romance, although not always successfully. Among women, only 7% agreed to get married after such an acquaintance.
Earlier, on March 28, psychologist Yulia Vorobyova, in an interview with Izvestia, gave advice on building a happy relationship. According to her, the secret of success lies in the fact that relationships should be built by independent adults who understand what responsibility is, who are able to negotiate, hear each other and, most importantly, understand how to interact with others.
