Prigoda, a World Cup swimmer, set a new Russian record in the 100 m breaststroke
Russian swimmer Kirill Prigoda set a new national record in the 100 m breaststroke at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore on July 27.
In the preliminary round, the athlete showed a time of 58.53 seconds, beating all competitors and taking first place. German Lukas Matzerath was second (58.75 seconds), Nicolo Martinengi was third (58.84 seconds). Together with him, another representative of Russia, Danil Semyaninov, made it to the semifinals, Sport-Express clarifies.
The previous national record for this distance was held by Anton Chupkov (58.83 seconds) and was set on October 26, 2020.

On July 23, Russian synchronized swimmers Maya Gurbanberdieva and Alexander Maltsev won the technical program in the mixed duet competition at the World Aquatics Championships. The result of the Russian was 233.2100 points. The Spanish couple Mireya Hernandez Luna and Dennis Gonzalez Boneu took the second place, they scored 230.4634 points.
