A properly organized workspace can make a child's studies easier and more enjoyable. Even if he does not have a separate room, it is important to allocate a comfortable and functional corner that will motivate him to study, Ekaterina Markelova, co-owner of the Discovery network of bilingual kindergartens and schools, told Izvestia on July 28.

"The table should be stable and spacious enough to accommodate notebooks, books and a computer. It is better to choose models with drawers or add-ons: this way everything you need will be at hand, and there will be no clutter on the table. It is important to choose a comfortable chair with back support, preferably with an adjustable height. This will help you maintain your posture and get less tired," the expert notes.

The specialist recommends involving the child in the process of arranging his workplace so that he feels like the owner of this space. It is important to discuss with him where and how it will be more convenient for him to place the table. The best option is to install a table by the window — natural light is much more useful than artificial light. For right—handers, the lighting should come from the left, and for left-handers, from the right. In the evening, you will need a table lamp with a power of up to 80 watts, which should also be placed taking into account these recommendations.

The color scheme also affects productivity. Bright shades are distracting, while dark ones can be depressing. It is better to choose calm pastel or beige tones, and add bright accents with accessories such as colored stands, lamps or posters. This will create a balance between a working atmosphere and comfort.

Walls can be used for better memorization of the material.

"It is useful to hang posters with formulas, foreign words or motivational quotes next to the table. High school students will find a chalk or magnetic board useful: it is convenient to plan things and take notes on it," explains Markelova.

It is important to consider the storage system. The fewer things on the table, the easier it is to concentrate. Drawers, shelving, or organizers will do. If space permits, you can add an area for relaxation and creativity so that the child can switch between activities and games without leaving his corner.

Earlier, on March 25, it was reported that the majority of parents surveyed (65%) limit screen time to children. So, 67% explain this by the desire for minors to relax without gadgets: for example, they read paper books and played regular, non-online games. At the same time, 60% are worried about their eyesight, 55% are afraid that digital addiction will arise, and 30% are worried about safety.
