One person was killed in a shooting at the University of New Mexico.

One person was killed and one injured in a shooting that occurred on the campus of the University of New Mexico in the United States. This was announced on July 25 by the press service of the educational institution.

"In the early morning of July 25, 2025, the UNMPD received a report of shots fired in Casas del Rio (Gila) <...> in Albuquerque. The officers who arrived at the scene found that two people had been wounded by gunfire," the university said in a post on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

It is reported that one victim died, and the other person suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect remains at large and, according to preliminary information, is still on campus.

CNN reported on April 17 that two people were killed and five others were injured in a shooting at the University of Florida in the United States. The attacker was also hospitalized. The suspect was identified as 20-year-old Phoenix Eakner, the son of a Leon County sheriff's deputy.
