The penalty for violating gambling advertising is proposed to be increased to 800 thousand rubles, prescribing a measure of responsibility in a separate article in the Administrative Code. As Izvestia found out, such a bill has been prepared for submission to the State Duma by the LDPR faction led by Leonid Slutsky.

Among other things, we are talking about punishing bookmakers for non—compliance with the requirements for advertising materials - without marking "advertising", posting such information on information resources not related to sports, and others.

The authors of the initiative note: currently, such advertising, in violation of the requirements for it, is actively distributed on social networks and children's mobile applications without any age marking.

In this regard, they propose to establish a new punishment: for citizens, the amount of fines will range from 2 thousand rubles to 5 thousand rubles, for officials from 20 thousand rubles to 100 thousand rubles. In case of violation, companies and organizations will pay up to 800 thousand rubles instead of the current 500 thousand rubles, and their activities may also be suspended for up to 90 days.

"Now the law allows bookmakers to place their ads strictly in certain places, such as sports newspapers, websites or during the broadcast of football matches and other competitions. But they are constantly looking for loopholes to further promote their dubious services. They have reached the point where they post their obsessive banners and videos falsely promising free money for registration and fabulous winnings, not only on social networks or various videos, but also publish advertisements in children's mobile applications," Leonid Slutsky explained to Izvestia the need to adopt the bill.

On March 19, Izvestia reported that Russia was proposing to impose millions of fines for advertising gambling (online casinos) on the Internet, as well as to establish separate administrative liability for violations of the law on advertising by the gaming business. The explanatory note to the new draft law, which is available to Izvestia, states that for several years in a row, a steady increase in patients with a diagnosis of "pathological gambling addiction" has been recorded in the Russian Federation.
