The British authorities intend to impose restrictions on the organizers and accomplices of the importation of illegal migrants into the country. This was reported on July 21 by Sky News with reference to British Foreign Minister David Lammy.

"David Lammy stated that the new powers under the sanctions act will allow the UK to freeze the assets of anyone involved in the illegal importation of illegal migrants into the country," the publication says.

The Foreign Minister added that the restrictions imposed would be the world's first sanctions regime aimed at groups engaged in illegal migration services. It is expected that the first wave of restrictions will be introduced on Wednesday, July 23.

These individuals will be publicly included in the sanctions list, which will make it impossible for them to interact with the country's financial system, the article says. In addition, they will also be banned from entering the UK.

"The government has stated that by using the sanctions law, it can pursue gangs of smugglers wherever they are, including where law enforcement and criminal justice agencies cannot achieve their goals," the media informs.

Earlier, on May 12, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a tightening of migration policy in the country. He stressed that the number of migrants would decrease "significantly," but did not disclose the expected figures.
