The team of US President Donald Trump is concerned about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the strikes on Syria. This was announced on July 20 by the Axios portal.

"Bibi (Netanyahu's nickname. — Ed.) behaved like a madman. He's constantly bombing everything. This could undermine what Trump is trying to do," said an unnamed White House official.

Another senior American official drew attention to the attack on a Catholic church in Gaza. It is noted that after the Israeli strike, Trump contacted Netanyahu and demanded an explanation.

Another unnamed official from the United States shared that skepticism about the Israeli prime minister is growing in the presidential administration. According to him, people believe that Netanyahu "itches his trigger finger too much." He is also called too destructive and looks "like a child who does not know how to behave."

Earlier, on July 19, the US special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, announced that Israel and Syria had reached a ceasefire agreement with the support of Washington. He also noted that the United States is calling on the Druze, Bedouins and Sunnis to lay down their arms in order to build a "new unified Syrian identity."
