- A criminal case was opened in Ufa after violence against elderly people in a boarding house
A criminal case has been opened in Ufa for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements due to reports of violence against the elderly in one of the local boarding houses. This was announced on Friday, July 18, by the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan.
"During the monitoring of social media, information was revealed that violence is being used against the elderly in the boarding house," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
A criminal case was opened into the incident under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements"). Investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
On February 27, a 19-year-old young man attacked an elderly man in a Kaluga store after making a remark to him. During the altercation, the pensioner grabbed the offender by the jacket, to which the second young man responded with aggression — he hit the man, and then continued beating when he fell.
