- The DPR authorities announced their intention to create favorable conditions for business
The authorities of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) strive to create the most comfortable conditions for investors. This was announced on Thursday, July 17, by the acting chairman of the regional government, Andrei Chertkov.
"In general, it is very difficult to work with investors. We meet regularly, hold negotiations, and explain all the advantages of working on our territories — the sea, resources, weather, and in the FEZ (Free Economic Zone. There is practically no taxation, maximum assistance from the authorities of the region," Chertkov said in an interview with the Donetsk News Agency (DAN).
According to him, business interest in Donbass is growing: new investors appear every week. A significant impetus for the negotiations was the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which included meetings on industrial development.
"Investors choose which sites to enter very carefully and carefully. It is clear that ideally they need large hangars, areas, and resources. It's just that many people are still, one might say, hesitating," Chertkov added.
He also noted that the most promising areas for investments in the region are energy, coal chemistry and building materials.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 13 that Russian businesses have real opportunities to invest in new regions of the country, and Donbass and Novorossiya are distinguished by favorable conditions for both agriculture and tourism development. The Head of State also pointed out the need for a systematic approach to land issues and the reduction of administrative barriers.
