People's Artist of Russia, composer Alexey Rybnikov celebrates his 80th birthday on July 17.

Rybnikov is the author of music for such films as "The Adventures of Pinocchio", "About Little Red Riding Hood", "The Mustachioed Nanny", "The dog walked on the piano", "The same Munchausen" and others. Symphonies, progressive rock, choral music, operas - he is not afraid to experiment and constantly tries new things.

"Music should not become obsolete. For music in general, to be honest, it's fine. If it happens differently, it means that a person shouldn't have started composing music if he can't compose like that," the composer said.

As a child, Rybnikov appeared in the courtyard less often than his peers, because he wrote music for himself, and at the age of 20 he was already for Soviet cinema. Most of his melodies are considered true classics.

"They send me reports from each performance: how it was perceived. When I feel this reaction after so many years, it's certainly worth a lot. It gives us strength to do something and work now," he said.

A composer has always had the ability to say the most important thing in a few notes. This is a special music, without which the movie will not be complete. Now in his 80s, Rybnikov is preparing various premieres and continues to write music.

Earlier, on April 21, the Hydrogen film company and Art Pictures Studio, the National Media Group, the distributor NMG Kinoprokat and Art Pictures Distribution, with the support of the Cinema Foundation, presented the first trailer for the fairy tale "Pinocchio". The director was Igor Voloshin, and the cinematographer was Maxim Zhukov, winner of the NIKA award.
