On July 12, a concert of symphonic music by Russian classics "Stars of the Ancient Kurzala" took place in the A.N. Scriabin Concert Hall of the North Caucasus Philharmonic in Kislovodsk.
The concert was held as part of the All-Russian Academic Music Festival named after Safonov — "130th anniversary of the Philharmonic", dedicated to the anniversary of the oldest philharmonic in Russia. The program featured "hits" of Russian symphonic music.
Sergey Roldugin, People's Artist of Russia, artistic director of the St. Petersburg House of Music, performed "Variations on a Rococo Theme" for cello and orchestra by P. I. Tchaikovsky.
Sergei Rachmaninoff's orchestral suite "Symphonic Dances" and Alexander Glazunov's Concert Waltz No. 1 were also performed from the stage. The conductor was Dimitris Botinis, a laureate of the Russian President's Award and international competitions.
In April, fans of Asian exoticism were able to hear works by Thai composers performed by the Bangkok Royal Symphony Orchestra for the first time in Moscow. The performance of the guests from Thailand was a bright finale of the year of cross-cultural exchanges between the two countries.
