The region in Kazakhstan where the outbreak of anthrax was recorded does not border Russia, so there is no threat of epidemic spread. This was announced on July 9 by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

"The Akmola region of Kazakhstan does not border the Russian Federation, the threat of epidemic spread is excluded," the publication on the website says.

According to the press service of the department, at all checkpoints, specialists carry out sanitary control in order to exclude the import of dangerous diseases. Also, to prevent infection, you should not buy meat from private individuals in spontaneous markets, and at the first symptoms of the disease, you should seek medical help.

It is specified that quarantine was introduced in two villages of the Atbasar district and the Akmola region in Kazakhstan due to an outbreak of anthrax. In total, 10 cattle and seven local residents fell ill, who became infected as a result of contact with animals. At the same time, it is noted that sick cattle and contaminated products have been seized and destroyed.

Earlier, on May 3, after the detection of anthrax in the province of Mukhdahan in Thailand, Rospotrebnadzor announced the exclusion of the threat of the spread of the disease in Russia. It was noted that the agency is actively monitoring the epidemiological situation in the world.
