Nutritionist named the beneficial properties of honeysuckle
Nutritionist Roman Pristansky said that honeysuckle has a fairly low level of fast carbohydrates, and this berry is also famous for its high vitamin C content.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, June 24, the specialist noted that honeysuckle is rich in vitamin C — about 70 mg per 100 g. According to him, eating 200-300 grams of berries a day can significantly replenish vitamin reserves, although this does not fully cover the daily allowance.
He also noted that due to the high content of flavonoids, honeysuckle has an antioxidant effect, helps the body fight oxidative stress, accelerates metabolism and supports the functioning of the cardiovascular system thanks to vitamin P and potassium. People with high acidity are advised to limit their intake to 100-200 grams per day.
According to the expert, extracts from the flowers of the plant are also beneficial — they have a choleretic effect and contain substances that accelerate apoptosis (death of defective cells), contributing to the normalization of the gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system.
On June 23, nutritionist and nutritionist Olga Panova spoke about the benefits of honeysuckle for the heart and skin. Honeysuckle contains antioxidants — anthocyanins and flavonoids, which protect the heart and blood vessels. The berry is also low in calories — only 30-35 kcal per 100 g, according to 360.ru .
On June 10, nutritionist, PhD Margarita Koroleva told how to choose the right summer berries and gave tips on their use. She called for choosing summer berries without chemicals, grown in natural conditions, and looking at the origin when buying.
In November, Russian and Turkish scientists found dozens of new beneficial substances in honeysuckle fruits, writes NSN. Unique polyphenols have been found in the berry, including myricetin and anonaine, which have anti—cancer and antiviral effects - a possible basis for the creation of new dietary supplements and medicines.
