The foreign trade turnover between Moscow and India reached $38 billion in 2024. This was announced on June 19 during his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) Sergei Cheryomin, Minister of the Government of the capital and head of the city's Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations, said.

According to him, the foreign economic turnover between Russia and India reached almost $70 billion last year. At the same time, there has recently been a positive trend in the growth of trade relations between Moscow residents and Indian partners, Cheryomin noted.

"Moscow's foreign trade turnover [with India] amounted to more than $38 billion last year," stressed the minister of the capital's government during the Russia-India business dialogue.

Cheryomin also pointed to the privileged strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed the hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India would give a new impetus to the deepening of technological, cultural and humanitarian bilateral cooperation.

Debjit Chakraborty, director of the joint Russian-Indian integrator RISING, told Izvestia on April 29 that India is committed to cooperation with Russia in the field of technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. According to him, relations between India, Russia and the BRICS countries are "an alliance made in heaven."
