A court in Moscow fined WhatsApp messenger 3.5 million rubles.

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the American WhatsApp messenger (owned by the Meta organization, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) 3.5 million rubles. This was reported to Izvestia in court on June 10.

It is specified that the fine was imposed under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Failure to delete prohibited information").

On May 14, a court in Moscow fined WhatsApp for failing to fulfill its duties as the organizer of the instant messaging service (Part 1 of Article 13.39 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). As a result, the court imposed a fine of 800 thousand rubles.
