The Second Western District Military Court has sentenced a Colombian mercenary to 28 years in prison for participating in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on June 10 in the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region.
"He was sentenced to 28 years in prison, with serving the first term of his sentence in prison for five years, and 23 years in a strict regime penal colony," the Telegram channel clarifies.
The Colombian mercenary is accused of participating in an armed conflict, illegally crossing the border, smuggling weapons and carrying them illegally, as well as committing terrorist attacks.
On May 16, the Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) sentenced mercenary Oscar Charles Augustus Jenkins from Australia, who took part in the Ukrainian conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to 13 years in a high-security penal colony. It is specified that the person involved arrived on the territory of Ukraine and underwent military training to participate in the conflict.
