The Israeli Defense Minister threatened the Houthis with an air and sea blockade.
Israel will impose a naval and air blockade against the Yemeni Houthis in the event of continued shelling of Israeli territory. This was announced on June 10 by Israel Katz, the country's defense minister.
"We have warned the Houthi terrorist organization that if they continue to shell Israel, they will face a powerful response and will find themselves under a naval and air blockade," The Times of Israel newspaper quoted him as saying.
Also on this day, Israeli missile ships launched rocket attacks on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen. It is clarified that this is the first attack launched by the Israeli Navy, before that, strikes against the Houthis were carried out exclusively by aviation.
"The strikes were carried out after the aggression of the Houthi terrorist regime against Israel, including the launch of surface-to—surface missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of Israel and its citizens," the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Telegram channel says.
On May 16, the Israeli military attacked the port infrastructure in Hodeidah. It was noted that the IDF carried out more than 10 airstrikes on port infrastructure facilities in western Yemen.
