The Russian government has approved a bill to strengthen criminal liability for violations of legislation on foreign agents. This was announced on June 9 by Vasily Piskarev, deputy of the State Duma, Chairman of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption.

"The Russian government has approved a bill prepared by the State Duma Commission on the Investigation of Foreign Interference to strengthen criminal liability for violations of legislation on foreign agents," Piskarev wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, according to the bill, the condition of committing a repeat offense within one year will be excluded from the disposition, and a one-time administrative prejudice will be established. The deputy added that the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation approved the bill, and now it will be submitted to the State Duma.

On April 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law recognizing as foreign agents those who assist international organizations in which Russia does not participate. He also signed a law that prohibits foreign agents from holding positions in the governing bodies of state corporations.
