Trump instructed US agencies to stop riots in Los Angeles
On June 8, American leader Donald Trump instructed the Pentagon, the Ministry of Justice and the US Department of Homeland Security to stop the riots in Los Angeles, which broke out amid protests against immigration raids.
"I am instructing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant departments and agencies, to take all necessary actions to free Los Angeles from the migrant invasion," Trump said in a message on the Truth Social network.
According to him, immigrants in Los Angeles are now attacking federal officials in order to suspend deportation operations. He clarified that order in the city will be restored.
In the footage from social networks, officers clear the streets of demonstrators, law enforcement officers push back the protesters, using stun grenades, tear gas and batons.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid searching for illegal migrants, as a result of which 45 people were detained. Violent protests broke out after the raid, escalating into clashes between protesters and ICE officers. Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on June 8 that the riots were the result of the erroneous policies of former US President Joe Biden.
