A terrorism case was opened against the ideologist of the RDK Kiryushchenko
A criminal case has been opened against Vasily Kiryushchenko, the ideologist of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) (an organization banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as a terrorist organization). A source told Izvestia about this on June 6.
According to the source, Kiryushchenko is accused of participating in a terrorist organization and publicly calling for terrorism. His name also appeared on the public list on the Rosfinmonitoring website.
"Kiryushchenko Vasily Alekseevich, born on 30.04.1994," his data is given in Rosfinmonitoring.
Kiryushchenko is the son of director and close friend of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky Alexei Kiryushchenko. Until the fall of 2024, he hid his face, acting as the ideologue of the RDK with the call sign "Cardinal". His identity became known as a result of an investigation by Izvestia.
In one of the chats of the pro-Ukrainian radicals, Kiryushchenko claimed that he was involved in the attack on the border villages of the Bryansk region.
A source from Izvestia reported on April 29 that a man had been detained in St. Petersburg for publicly justifying terrorism. According to the source, in March 2024, a 23-year-old local resident posted a number of comments in the Telegram messenger in support of the RDC's activities.
