The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has uncovered a cartel in the supply of medical products worth more than 620 million rubles. This was reported in the service on June 3.

"The auctions were held for the needs of government agencies in St. Petersburg and the Kaliningrad region. The Antimonopoly Service has recognized Alma-Med LLC and Makrus LLC as violating antimonopoly legislation. The organizations refused to compete when participating in electronic auctions," the press service of the department said.

The FAS found that the companies used a common infrastructure to participate in tenders and maintained stable financial and business ties. Government contracts were concluded without significant reduction or with minimal reduction of the initial maximum price.

The total value of the initial maximum contract price (NMCC) was 621,063,371 rubles. Violators may be fined in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. The materials of the antimonopoly case will be sent to law enforcement agencies to consider whether to initiate criminal proceedings.

On March 28, the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced a reduction in prices for four vital medicines. It was reported that among them are drugs for the treatment of respiratory tract diseases, lymphoma, breast cancer, tachycardia and hypertension.
