Hamburg police have arrested a suspect in the arson attack on a hospital.

German police have detained a 72-year-old man suspected of setting fire to the Marienkrankenhaus hospital in Hamburg. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on June 1.

"The investigation concluded that one of the patients deliberately started a fire, which killed three people and injured more than 50 others. The police detained the suspect directly at the clinic," the article says.

According to the publication, 220 firefighters took part in extinguishing the fire.
