The Netherlands will complete the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine on May 26.
The last of the 24 F-16 fighters promised to Kiev will be sent to Ukraine on May 26. This was announced on May 25 by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
"This means that all 24 promised fighters will soon be present in Ukraine," Brekelmans said in an interview with WNL.
The Defense minister stressed that the Netherlands continues to train pilots and technicians, and also shares its military doctrine for the use of fighter jets "so that Ukraine can create modern armed forces corresponding to the forces of NATO member states."
On March 5, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schof announced that the government intends to allocate €3.5 billion to help Ukraine next year. He noted that, if necessary, the funds can be used by Kiev in 2025.
