In Blagoveshchensk, a driver flew over a fence during a police chase
The driver of a Lexus LS-600 car, while trying to escape from the police, crashed into fences and flew over a excavation in Blagoveshchensk. This was reported on May 14 in the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) of the Amur region.
"As a result of the accident, two passengers of the Lexus LS-600 car, a woman born in 2000 and a man born in 1998, were injured," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is reported that the chase began after the driver of the foreign car did not comply with the police's demand to stop the car. When registering the accident, it was established that the offender was intoxicated. In 2023, he was stripped of his driver's license for a similar violation.
Administrative violation reports were drawn up against the driver, and he was placed in custody for 14 days. The issue of initiating a criminal case under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Driving while intoxicated by a person who has been subjected to administrative punishment or has a criminal record") is currently being resolved.
On May 13, the traffic police reported that an intoxicated driver without a license, in whose car there were seven passengers, provoked a chase in the city of Vytegra, Vologda region. The driver, walking away from the chase, grossly violated traffic regulations, drove onto the sidewalk and crossed a solid marking line.
