Servicemen of the 40th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) as part of the North group of forces in the Belovsky district of the Kursk region congratulated veterans, home front workers and war children on the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was announced on May 9 by the Ministry of Defense.
"We congratulated the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the children of the war, those who gave us victory. <...> We gave them small tokens of attention: flowers, gifts, warm words and wishes. They promised to carry the Victory Banner further," said the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Shadow.
Currently, soldiers of the 40th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet continue to carry out their tasks during the special operation, the department added.
On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, military personnel of the Omsk Rocket Association, together with the yunarmeysky detachment and students of the Omsk Kormilovka Secondary School, congratulated 100-year-old veteran Mikhail Ivanovich Shalaginov on the upcoming holiday on May 8. Shalaginov took part in the Battle of Kursk, where he was wounded for the first time in August 1943. Among his awards are the Order of the Red Star and the Patriotic War of the First degree for courage and bravery in the battles against the Nazi invaders.
