Lavrov pointed to the rallying of Europe against Russia under the banner of Nazism
Almost the whole of Europe has rallied and is waging a war against Russia under the banner of Nazism. This was stated on May 6 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a flower-laying ceremony at memorial plaques in memory of employees of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs (NKID) and the USSR Ministry of Foreign Trade who died in the Second World War.
According to the Minister, it is important not only to preserve the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War, but also to remember the diplomatic experience and lessons of those events.
"These lessons are invaluable, including and especially in the current situation, when almost the whole of Europe is waging war against us again, put under arms and Nazi banners," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
Lavrov stressed that European forces have rallied to support the openly anti-Russian regime of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, "which holds torchlight processions and throws fighters with Nazi division chevrons on their sleeves into the meat grinder." He added that the Russian side is also threatened with inflicting a strategic defeat on the battlefield.
The Russian Foreign Minister clarified that a large number of declassified documents from the time of the war are currently being published. He recalled that this was how it became known about the preparation of Operation Unthinkable during the Second World War, in particular, with the participation of the British, which involved an attack by Western countries on the Soviet Union in order to inflict a strategic defeat on it.
On April 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the need to do everything to counter the resurgence of Nazism, the spread of destructive ideologies of Russophobia, anti-Semitism, any forms of racism, as well as national and religious intolerance. According to him, the international community should work together to create a new architecture of equal and indivisible security to protect countries without prejudice to the interests of others.
