Snipers destroyed more than 50 Baba Yaga drones in the Red Army area

Snipers of the motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces destroyed more than 50 Baba Yaga-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), covering assault units from drone attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area. This was announced on Friday, May 2, by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"To perform the tasks of covering units from various drones and heavy agricultural drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military personnel organize observation posts in the places where they are used by the enemy and monitor the airspace in the area of operation of assault units," the ministry said.
It is specified that when a target is detected, snipers shoot enemy UAVs with AK-47 assault rifles and sniper rifles equipped with night vision sights, since the work is carried out at any time of the day.
"We are forming sniper pairs that work specifically to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles. As a rule, they work — this is one SVD (Dragunov Sniper rifle. — Ed.) and one Kalashnikov assault rifle with thermal imaging sights. As practice has shown, it is very effective. Our unit currently has more than 58 affected heavy UAVs," said the commander of the sniper company with the call sign Sirius.
Earlier, on April 30, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that operators of FPV drones on fiber-optic control had eliminated a pickup truck and an ATV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the settlement of Konstantinovka of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). First, they identified the location of the targets. Then the Russian military destroyed the equipment and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with precise strikes.
