China is considering starting trade negotiations with the United States. This was reported on Friday, May 2, by the Bloomberg news agency, citing the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

"The United States recently sent messages to China through the relevant parties, hoping to start negotiations with China. China is currently evaluating this [proposal]," the ministry said in a statement.

In the media, such a move by the PRC was called the first sign of the possibility of starting negotiations between the countries.
