- Patrushev discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex with the head of Mordovia
On April 23, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov. The parties discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex and ecology in the republic.
It is noted that the agro-industrial complex of Mordovia has been showing growth for more than 10 years. In 2024, the volume of gross agricultural output amounted to almost 118 billion rubles. It was possible to harvest more than 1.3 million tons of grain with the best yield in the Volga Federal District, as well as more than 1 million tons of sugar beet.
Zdunov stressed that farmers are fully provided with all necessary resources, including fuel and mineral fertilizers. This year, 755 thousand hectares are planned to be sown in Mordovia. Thanks to the use of seeds of domestic breeding, import substitution volumes are increasing for a number of crops.
According to the results of last year, Mordovia ranks third in Russia in milk production. In 2024, the region produced more than 550 thousand tons of milk, which is more than a year earlier. From January to March of this year, there has also been an increase compared to the same period last year. This year, more than 2 billion rubles from the federal budget will be allocated to support the agro-industrial complex of Mordovia.
A lot of work in Mordovia is being carried out within the framework of the state program "Integrated Rural Development" — about 1.5 billion rubles have been allocated to the region.
Special attention was paid during the meeting to the results of the implementation of the national project "Ecology" and the region's participation in the new national project "Environmental well-being". Zdunov spoke about the progress of updating the infrastructure for the storage and processing of municipal solid waste. In turn, Patrushev called for speeding up work on the elimination of unauthorized landfills in the region.
The day before, Patrushev held a working meeting with the Governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, during which they discussed the development of the agro-industrial and fisheries complexes of the region and environmental issues. The parties touched upon the restoration of orchards in the region, in particular, fruit and berry gardens. The issue of restoring the irrigation system was also raised.
