"When we talk about solving the root problems that have caused any conflict, including the Ukrainian one, we need to understand that this is the only way to achieve lasting peace. It is necessary to eliminate the key, root problems, causes," Lavrov said, speaking at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

He also added that American leader Donald Trump understands the essence of this conflict much better than any European leader.

In addition, Lavrov called the policy of the administration of former US President Joe Biden with an attempt to isolate Russia "stupid, to put it mildly." According to him, Trump suggested returning to a normal political relationship with an adequate dialogue between the countries.
