The United States has signed an additional contract with General Dynamics Electric Boat for the supply of materials for nuclear submarines of the Virginia Block VI class worth $1 billion. This was announced by the Pentagon on March 25.

"General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation has received an amendment to the contract, not exceeding $1 billion 65 million, for long—term supplies of materials to Virginia Block VI class submarines," the document says.

The work is scheduled to be completed by September 2035.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced on March 20 that the Pentagon had terminated defense contracts and grants worth $580 million. He specified that the specified amount included grants from the Pentagon in the amount of $ 360 million to reduce carbon emissions from ships of the US Navy, purchase software for personnel services, contracts with consulting companies, as well as university funding for the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning models.
