The deputy head of Dubna near Moscow was accused of abuse of office

The deputy head of the administration of the Dubna city near Moscow has been charged with abuse of office (Part 1, Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the GSU of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow Region reported on March 21.

A preliminary investigation revealed that in April 2022, the defendant misappropriated funds while serving as CEO of JSC Industrial and Technical Association of Urban Economy.

"Taking advantage of his official position, he illegally received a monetary reward in the amount of 10% of the free balance of the organization's profit for 2021 in the amount of more than 797 thousand rubles," the department's Telegram channel says.

During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, admitting his guilt. The Dmitrov City Court ordered him to be placed under house arrest.

On March 18, in Primorsky Krai, a deputy of the City Duma of the Arsenyevsky City District was detained in a case of fraud in the export of municipal solid waste. The suspect was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on a particularly large scale or resulting in the deprivation of a citizen's right to housing"). The damage from his actions amounted to 6.5 million rubles.
