The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund pointed to the Trump administration's readiness for dialogue with the Russian Federation.

The administration of former US President Joe Biden has done a lot to destroy relations with the Russian Federation, while the administration of the current American leader, Donald Trump, is establishing a dialogue. This was announced on March 17 by Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"We see that the administration of President Biden has done a lot to destroy relations with Russia, to try to inflict, unsuccessfully, a strategic defeat on Russia. And of course, what the Trump administration is doing is establishing a dialogue," he told reporters on the sidelines of the annual congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

According to him, the Trump administration is focused on dialogue and finding solutions. At the same time, Dmitriev noted, many people are trying to disrupt this dialogue.

He also added that it would be difficult for American companies to return to Russia, and it would be optimal for them to create joint ventures with Russian businesses.

"Those of the American companies that will return, they will be able to return only by creating joint ventures with Russian companies that have already shown their success," Dmitriev said.

Trump accused Biden on March 14 that relations between the United States and Russia had deteriorated significantly. He added that if he were president instead of Biden, the situation in the country would be better. According to him, there would have been no conflict in Ukraine, significant inflation and an open border for illegal immigrants.

Prior to that, on January 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that their relationship with the American leader was trusting and pragmatic. Putin also suggested that if Trump had not been "robbed of victory" in the last election, the current crisis in Ukraine might not have happened.
