Paris police are trying to free a theater occupied by homeless people.

Police in Paris on Tuesday, March 18, are trying to liberate the Gaîté Lyrique theater, which was occupied by more than 400 homeless migrants three months ago.
The theater is closed to the public, but the police were ordered to vacate the concert hall by force.
"They just broke into the building and took it over, setting up a flophouse there. Migrants are demanding that the state provide them with housing and documents," said Anastasia Rikeza, a journalist.
It is noted that the European Union has been experiencing the largest migration crisis since the Second World War. Most of the illegal immigrants come to Europe via the Mediterranean Sea.
Earlier, on March 15, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance, in an interview with Fox News, said that the inability of European countries to cope with the migration flow could lead to their "civilizational suicide." He added that attempts by the authorities to remedy the situation are the right step, but at the same time, state leaders are beginning to restrict citizens' rights to freedom of expression.
