The calculation of the Tor-M1 air defense system destroyed the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Red Army area

Military personnel of the Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Center group of forces intercepted the Shark unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during combat operations, providing cover for the offensive actions of units in the Red Army area. This was announced on March 18 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Having received a combat mission, the calculation of the Tor-M1 air defense system promptly identified the Ukrainian UAV. When the target appeared, the anti-aircraft gunners took it to escort and, after confirmation, destroyed it.

"We move to the starting position, turn on the coordinates of the command post, find the target, practice. And we're going back. First to the temporary garage, then we wait it out and then to the main one," said the head of the calculation, senior Lieutenant Nikita Meek.

Modern radar equipment available on board the complex allows operators to easily and accurately detect aerial targets in their area of responsibility and effectively destroy them. The high accuracy of combat use allows the calculation to eliminate up to eight enemy air targets using a single ammunition package.
