Washington's chief federal prosecutor Ed Martin announced the launch of an investigation into fraud in the 2020 presidential election, during which Joe Biden won. This was reported by Reuters on March 17.

"The chief federal prosecutor of President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Monday announced new efforts to investigate cases of election fraud," the agency reports, citing an internal email from the prosecutor's office.

It seems that Martin has notified his department's staff about the creation of a new office called the "Special Election Accountability Unit." He also asked to recruit volunteers to work in it.

On February 27, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi accused the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of hiding "thousands of pages of documents" in the case of American businessman Jeffrey Epstein. In a letter to FBI Director Cash Patel, she noted that all but 200 pages of documents were still kept secret at the bureau's New York office.
