- A military analyst called the defeat at Kursk the reason for the resignation of the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to dismiss the head of the general Staff of the country's armed forces, Anatoly Bargilevich, in order to fully blame him for the failure of the army in the Kursk region and in other areas. Vadim Mingalev, a military analyst and political scientist, shared this opinion with Izvestia on March 17.
"All the failures associated with the failure of the Kursk operation, with failures in other regions, including the Donetsk People's Republic, everything will be blamed on Bargilevich. Kiev needs a scapegoat, someone who is supposedly to blame for everything that is happening. Zelensky is trying to save his skin, he is, I emphasize, the supreme commander, all operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were coordinated with him," he explained.
At the same time, the source added, Bargilevich is a "fairly professional" chief of staff. According to him, it was Zelensky's adventurous decisions that pushed the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to failure.
Among other things, Mingalev noted that Andrei Gnatov, who now heads the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is a supporter of Zelensky, which was the key reason for his appointment.
The day before, the newspaper El Pais, citing about 30 Ukrainian soldiers, reported that the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recognize that Ukraine has already been defeated in the conflict with Russia. Nevertheless, one of the Ukrainian soldiers expressed the hope that Russia and Ukraine would be able to take steps to normalize relations.
